Lead a Quiet and Tranquil Life

First of all, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings
be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity.
1 TIMOTHY 2:1-2

This is good and pleasing to God our savior, who wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth. For there is one God. There is also one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as ransom for all. (1 Tim 2:3-6)

Jesus said, "Woe to you that are rich, for you have received your consolation. Woe to you that are full now, for you shall hunger. Woe to you that laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep. Woe to you, when all men speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets." (Lk 6:24-26)

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth (Col 3:2). Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry (Col 3:5). In these you once walked, when you lived in them. But now put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and foul talk from your mouth. Put off the old nature with its practices and have put on the new nature, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. (Col 3:7-10)

As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body though many are one body, so also Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit. Now the body is not a single part, but many (Cor 12:12-14). Now you are Christ’s Body, and individually parts of it. Some people God has designated in the Church to be first, Apostles; second, prophets; third, teachers; then, mighty deeds; then, gifts of healing, assistance, administration, and varieties of tongues. (Cor 12:27-28)

This was the testimony at the proper time. For this I was appointed preacher and Apostle, teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. It is my wish, then, that in every place the men should pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or argument. (1 Tim 2:6-8)

Every day I will bless Thee, and praise Thy name for ever and ever (Ps 145:2). All Thy works shall give thanks to Thee, O LORD, and all Thy saints shall bless Thee! They shall speak of the glory of Thy kingdom, and tell of Thy power, to make known to the sons of men Thy mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of Thy kingdom. (Ps 145:10-12)
